The answer, after three weeks: yes, conspicuously. Rummy Modern was the only app in our current review batch that felt identical on the Redmi 9A and the Moto G34. Table animations — card draws, melds sliding into place, the discard arc — stayed fluid through hour-long sessions on all three devices. Cold start to a live table took under 25 seconds on the slowest phone; rivals on the same hardware took 40-plus. Whoever built this client understood that smoothness on bad hardware is an engineering budget, and spent it well.

The supporting numbers back the feel. An hour of points rummy consumed about 15 MB of mobile data, the leanest in our batch, and battery drain on the Redmi 9A measured roughly 9% per hour with the screen at half brightness — several points better than the gaudier competitors whose lobby carousels alone keep the GPU busy. Minimum withdrawal is ₹100, fee-free. The familiar shape: UPI quick, Paytm slower, the largest amount passing through a longer automated review. Nothing here challenges Rummy Nabob’s sub-hour consistency, but nothing missed the promised window either.

KYC (PAN plus bank/UPI name match) gates the first withdrawal and approved in about an hour for us. The submission flow deserves its usual paragraph of praise: the camera overlay shows a PAN-card-shaped frame with live glare detection, which is presumably why ours passed first time where the same phone’s photos got bounced at a competitor. Small thing; saved a day.

We also probed the failure paths. A withdrawal to a deliberately mistyped UPI ID was caught at the name-match step and rejected before any money moved, with a clear error naming the mismatch — not the generic “transaction failed, contact support” that usually starts a three-day email chain elsewhere. Paytm Support

The discard history is a swipe away with per-player filtering. Declares get a full-screen confirmation showing your groups with validity badges, making accidental invalid declarations near-impossible. And two settings we’ve never seen in this niche: a true dark mode (genuinely easier on the eyes for late sessions) and a left-handed layout that mirrors the action buttons. None of this wins a single extra hand, but across thirty hours it’s the difference between an app you tolerate and one you’d show someone.

Fair play follows the standard playbook: certified RNG cited on the in-app fairness page, randomised seating, no table selection within a stake, rejoin cooldowns. Our informal starting-hand tracking over ~100 hands flagged nothing. Airplane-mode testing confirmed proper disconnect protection — seat held, safe auto-discard, clean resume.
